Celebrating the End of a Rewarding Internal Audit Season

Although Bee Happy Payroll Limited is best known for providing reliable and professional payroll services, many people don't realise that I also undertake freelance internal audit work within the local government sector.

Over the past few months, I've been working with Mulberry Local Authority Services to complete year-end internal audits for a number of parish councils. Each council is unique, and it has been a pleasure to support good governance by providing independent assurance and helping councils meet their statutory responsibilities.

Internal auditing requires attention to detail, professionalism and a thorough understanding of financial controls and compliance which are qualities that are equally important in payroll. The experience gained through this work complements the services I provide to payroll clients and reinforces my commitment to accuracy, integrity and continual professional development.

Having now completed my final year-end audit of the spring, I'd like to thank Mulberry Local Authority Services for the opportunity to be part of their team. I look forward to returning in the autumn to undertake interim audits.

In the meantime, my focus remains with supporting my wonderful payroll clients and preparing for the busy months ahead. I love having a career that allows me to work across both payroll and governance/finance, helping people operate with confidence and compliance.
